Spectracular Updates

Howdy!  Time for some Spectracular updates!

Throughout the bumpy road of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been plugging along with Dr. Ferguson to continue work on the Spectracular organic chemistry spectroscopy project.

Wolfbird founder Ben Erlandson thought it would be a good idea to give a quick update on what we’ve been doing.  First, here’s the pitch video from our previous Indiegogo campaign that gives a good summary of the project:

Also, you can check the project overview and the educational impact for more information as well.

Now, for a few sneak peeks!

Students

Here’s a mockup of what we’re calling the “scorekeeper app”, which is what students will use to help them play the paper card game in the chemistry classroom.

Here’s a mockup of the student app when they would be using it outside of the classroom for the purposes of practice and review.

Here’s a mockup of what the digital card game would look like when played on a tablet, such as an iPad.

Teachers

Here’s a mockup of how chemistry teachers might use a tablet to manage all games happening in any single classroom at any time.

And here’s a single image of the home screen of an app teachers would use on a tablet after class to review and prepare for continued teaching.

This is the most recent mockup in progress, so it’s only one image for now, but we think you get the idea! 🙂

The project is on a bit of a slower pace for now due to the fact that Dr. Ferguson is taking a sabbatical year in Scandinavia, so we will continue the work and ramp up again when we can!

Stay tuned for more updates.
